This past Saturday night @ the Mohawk, The Redboys along with Flock of Spiders band mate Deven Fry, took the stage during Dead Confederate’s encore to perform “Giving It All Away” with the Hardy, Brantley, and John from the band. Ben on drums, Max on keys, and Deven on guitar. You might say it was pretty damn cool…

Come celebrate the release of The Authors debut album “Get Haunted” with a party at The Mohawk. Some of Austin’s best bands will be providing support with sets from MoTel Aviv, and Politics. Alison Narro will be on hand taking photos and members of The Happen-Ins will be doing DJ Sets in between.

The Whiskey Priest To Release Wave And Cloud 8.23 on UK Rainboot Label

The Whiskey Priest is Austin based singer-songwriter Seth Woods. The Whiskey Priest has his debut full length set for release on 8.23 via UK digital label Rainboot.

Seth moved to Austin in 2003, where he soon started making music with his band Sad Accordions. around the time Sad Accordions finished their first record, A Bad Year For The Sharons, their writing process began to move towards a more collaborative effort, with less of an emphasis on already-existing individual songs. While this was a much needed and welcomed change for the band, it left Seth with a suitcase full of homeless songs. And as these things will often go, long stretches of heartache continued to add to his catalogue. Heartache plus unused songs and an identification with a specific character from classic twentieth century literature (one tormented by the struggle between the human and the divine, no less!) equals The Whiskey Priest.

The Whiskey Priest will be performing @ End Of An Ear on 8.14 and at The Ghost Room on 10.1 in celebration of this release. Physical copies will be available at local Austin record shops Waterloo and End Of An Ear, as well at Whiskey Priest shows.

The Authors Are Back! Prepping For Fall CD Release + New Single

After a two month hiatus, to tend to family matters, The Authors are back on the stage and putting together the details for a fall CD release. Get Haunted was recorded earlier this year with producer/engineer Suart Sikes (White Stripes, The Walkmen, Cat Power, Loretta Lynn) @ his Elmwood Recordings studio in Dallas, TX. Album details and release date combined with a release party are all coming your way soon. Stay tuned……

The Redboys To Play Rock The Gulf Benefit @ Shuck Shack

We are all aware of the tragic events that have taken place in the Gulf, and of the looming task of repairing the damage that has been done, and is to continue for years ahead. While many all over the world are coming together to do whatever they can to help with this enormous task, Austin’s own Shuck Shack are putting together their own effort in the means of a party happening Saturday July 31st.

Rock The Gulf is a live music fundraiser to benefit the Gulf Restoration Network and will feature a slew of local music artists, including our own Redboys. Joining The Redboys for a portion of their set will be their band mates who make up their 4 piece act Flock Of Spiders. The event is free with a portion of all food and beverage sales going to the GRN.
