Little did we know Austin would be overflowing with musicians.  So how to stand out from this mob?  Simple – we make music that makes US happy.
Several years ago a couple guys got together and started playing music.  They migrated to Austin.  Over the years other musicians gradually jumped in with them, playing music that up until that point had been written by only one of the founders.  Allowing for a little growth and maturation, we suddenly began writing music together, all at once.  While the vocals remain primarily in the poetic hands of that faithful charter member, the songs as a whole are owned, loved, cherished and celebrated by all of us.  We’re made up of very unique individuals, influenced by such a variety of rock heroes it’s a wonder we play the same tempo, let alone the same key.  But it works, and we’ll keep going as long as there’s room to sit together and play.

The band recorded A Bad Year For The Sharons in 2006. The recording encompasses the and expresses the bands love for the multitudes of sounds in music, with the use of brass instruments, violins, cello, clarinet, and various other effects. The songs drift seamlessly throughout the record, creating a daydream influenced musical landscape that lasts for what feels like, well spent hours. A concept and craft of Woods brought to life with the help of friends who share the love of music, and the love of making music, with no other intention other than continuing to do so together as long as it feels right.

Woods also performs as a solo artist under the moniker The Whiskey Priest, as well as playing bass in the Austin band Zookeeper. Lance does what he does best with the guitar also in the bands Zookeeper and The Ovenbirds.
